I went a traipsing through the wood
T'was in the twilight hour
Look there! Behold! A creature moves,
Amid that patch of flowers!
At first it seems to be a fawn
But wait! Deer aren't green!
Oh look, dear friend! A LEPRECHAUN!!!
Catch him! Quick! He leaves!
And so the hue and cry was raised
And off we humans went
We caught him by the hour's end
And heard his loud lament
"Oh woe is me! I clearly see,
My awful doom approaching!
Thumping, bumping, loudly rumbling
Upon my wood encroaching!"
It smote our hearts down to the core
To think! We'd caused this sadness!
We loosed him. Let free again,
And stopped this greedy madness
