The unrequited love

I gave you my all
Helped you stand whilst I took the fall
Fed you meat and bread
And craved for its crumbs instead
I gave you my heart
You dragged it like a cart Even if loaded with fruits
They couldn’t keep mute.
I offered you sweet banana
But you preferred their savanna
Just to be trapped among the oaks
By the dew your cloaks soaked
Yet I stayed, even told you stories
To kill your sorrow and worries
A savior I was to your burdens
Whilst mine were kept imprisoned
Finally the tables turned
And I was about being burned
The call to help came, bearing my name
Call forwarded, user busy, unanswered in shame
Yet you boldily gathered my ashes from the flame
Giving it a burial worth your name and fame
