African dolls are used to teach and entertain. They are also supernatural intermediaries, and they are manipulated for ritual purposes.
Now you have the Japanese Hina dolls that were displayed in the Hinamatsuri festival. There is a rich history of Japanese dolls going back to the Dogu figures between 8000–200 BCE, and From Haniwa funerary figures between 300–600 AD. When the eleventh century came, dolls were used as play toys and also for protection and in religious ceremonies.
The Hina dolls are made out of straw and wood. It is dressed in many-layered textiles.
You have now the corn husk doll. Corn husk doll is a Native American doll made out of the dried husk of a corn cob.
"You mean corn on a cob?" Andrew asked being sarcastic.
"Yeah that's right," Mr. Hanks said pointing at Andrew.
"Maize is known in some countries as corn. It is a large grain plant by indigenous peoples in Mesoamerica in the prehistoric times. Corn husk dolls doesn't have faces as you see. There are a number of traditional reasons and explanations for this. One legend has been said that the Spirit of Corn, one of the Three Sisters, made a doll out of her husks to entertain children.
"DAMN, IS THAT TRUE?" Andrew asked shockingly.
"Yes I believe it happened, but most folks thinks it's just an urban legend. The doll the three sisters had a beautiful face, and started spending less time with children, and more time by her own self. As a result of her vanity, the doll's face was taken away.
Next you have the Matryoshka dolls. They are also known as nesting dolls, babushka dolls, stacking dolls, Russian tea dolls, and Russian dolls. They are small wooden dolls. They come in sets of sizes from large to small.
The name matryoshka, means little matron.
