The Ventriloquist Act 12

When Friday evening came, Jasmine waited by the classroom door for Mr. Hanks.
When Mr. Hanks was finished gathering his belongings from his desk, he looked at Jasmine and says, "so, what should we do, walk to your house or should we drive their?"
"Even though it's not that far could we drive there?" She asked.
      "Sure," he said.
"I'm afraid that thing will follow us all the way there."
"I got your back," he said, while they both walked into the staffs parking lot. "Where do you think that dummy is?"
      "I don’t know."
      "Can you guess?" He asked.
"Don't know. well maybe hiding out some place in an alley behind some garbage dumpsters."
      "Great theory."
"Or maybe he could be hiding in some abandoned building somewhere."
"Could be, "he said, getting inside his Ford truck, and drove out of the parking lot. 10 minutes later he arrived at Jasmine's house, and parked behind her mother's grey Chevrolet. "So your mom knows I'm coming in right?"
"Yeah but she don't know what you are here for," she said, while they both ambled up the stairs.
"I can explain to her," he said, walking upstairs behind her.
Jasmine unlocked the door with her spare key, and they both went inside. When they walked in, there was an aroma smell of Olive Oil in the air.
"What's for dinner?" He asked Jasmine sarcastically. When Jasmine was about to tell him what's for dinner, her mother yelled from the kitchen. "JASMINE? THAT'S YOU?"
"YES MOMMA," she yelled back, standing by the door. She heard her mother walked out of the kitchen into the livingroom where Jasmine and Mr. Hanks was in.
"I'm cooking fried chicken and sweet potatoes and..." Getting cut off and off guard by her speech.
"Sounds good, you got any for me?" Mr. Hanks asked sarcastically.
"Uh Jasmine, who is this man?" She asked, staring down at him.
"Momma, this is my history teacher Mr. Hanks I was telling you about," she informed.
"Yeah but what is your teacher doing in our house?" She asked.
"Ma'am, let me explain to you. The reason why I'm here is to help your daughter with something, " he said.
"Help Jasmine? She's a straight A student, and she always were ever since she was in elementary. Now tell me what is she struggling with for the first time in her life?" She asked.
"She's not struggling in school," he informed.
"Than what do she need help with?... No disrespect Mr... What's your name?" She asked.
        "Mr. Hanks ma'am."
"Mr. Hanks, no disrespect to you, but this seems mighty odd to me seeing a teacher in my house," she said.
"I understand ma'am, but I will explain," he said.
        "Please do," she responded.
"Well, I'm trying to find a way how to say this...I believe your daughter is in great danger."
"DANGER? WHAT'S GOING ON BABY," She asked her daughter directly.
"And I believe you're as well ma'am," he said.
She points to her chest. "Me? Now I'm a stay at home body, so how could I be involved in some trouble? And Jasmine? What on God's heaven name have you got into girl? This ain't like you child, I know you girl..."
"No it's not involving school,  it's outside of school and...." He said, while getting cut off.
"Oh I hope you haven't got into it with any punks off those streets because..."
"No ma'am, it's nothing like that, it's something unbelievable," he informed.
"Than spit it out baby," she said.
"Your family is in danger of some form of entity?" He informed.
"Entity? What are you saying Mr. Hanks?" He asked.
"What I am saying is that you both is in danger by a ventriloquist dummy."
        "A what?"
        "It's like doll dummy."
        A DOLL? WHAT? She shouted.
        "Yes a..." Gets interrupted.
"Uh Jasmine I hope this ain't about that damn puppet you was talking about?" Her mother asked her.
"Yes momma, it is," she said.
"AND MR. HANKS, HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU POSSIBLY BELIEVE IN THIS BULL SHIT?" She said loudly.
        "Ma'am I'm..."
"YOU KNOW WHAT,  I DON'T EVEN WANNA HEAR IT BECAUSE I KNOW Y'ALL WHITE FOLKS BELIEVE IN ALL THAT LEGEND BULL CRAP..."
"Excuse me?" He asked, getting offended by her remark.
        "You heard me, y'all
white folks believe in anything, and I feel a lot of y'all need to get delivered from that because that's not pleasing the Lord," she said.
"MOMMA?" Jasmine shouted, trying to stop her mother from judging her teacher.
"Uhm, no disrespect ma'am but that remark was very racial and stereotypical. There are other cultures that believes in mythical, legends and superstitious beliefs. Not just white people," he informed
"Well that's my opinion, I don't get how you can believe in such nonsense that's not even real," she said.
        "Look ma'am I..."
"NO JUST LEAVE MR. HANKS," she said, pointing toward the door.
        "But ma'am?"
"I SAID GET THE HELL OUTTA MY HOUSE, AND DON'T COME BACK. IF JASMINE HAS ANY PROBLEMS FOR NOW ON I CAN GO UP TO THE SCHOOL FOR THAT," she shouted at him.
"Sorry ma'am. You two have a goodnight, and a great weekend ahead. See you in class on Monday Jasmine," he said, while shutting the door behind him.
"MA, NOW WHY YOU HAD TO DISRESPECT MY TEACHER LIKE THAT?" She yelled.
"DISRESPECT? THAT MAN WAS DISRESPECTING ME IN MY HOUSE. BRINGING THAT OL DEMONIC SPIRIT IN MY HOUSE."
"But that's my History teacher. God I feel so embarrassed now. That's so embarrassing. Now I don't know what to say to him when I go class next week."
"Nothing. Just go to school to learn, and get a good grade and graduate. That's it. Now that was your fault for bringing him in this house."
"But he was trying to help us we..." Getting cut off.
"Girl I don't wanna hear it, " her mother gets irritated, and walked off into the kitchen.
