The wages of sin is death, they say,
Yet still I wandered, night and day.
Drawn by fire, fooled by flame,
Chasing shadows, drowning shame.
I danced with lies, I played with pride,
I kept my pain well locked inside.
Smiles hid sorrow, laughs wore thin—
I wore the mask of silent sin.
Each step I took, a chain was made,
Each choice I made, the light would fade.
I heard the truth but shut my ears,
Too afraid to face my fears.
But mercy knocked when I was low,
Grace found me where darkness grows.
The blood of Christ—my soul’s release,
The raging storm gave way to peace.
Now I walk a narrow road,
No longer crushed by heavy loads.
The wages of sin once called my name,
But Jesus paid my debt in shame.
