Lying restless and awake
Trying hard not to entertain the millions of thoughts clamouring in my head
Hours passing ever so slowly
I feel like I will never get to sleep
The feeling in my heart is much like the ambiance in this room
Menial and dark
Cold and uninviting
Rarely a semblance of affection or connection
My gaze wanders to the silhouette lying next to me
So close, yet so far away
And I wonder
If there was a wall built between us
Would it feel any different?
