One cold stormy night a hooded figure
manifested into the moonlight
Out of nothing, from nowhere
He appeared into the sights
Of those who were unaware
Huddled around a dying campfire
Bewildered by what they witnessed
No one muttered a word
No one raised so much as an eye
The hooded figure approcahed the villagers
And put forward his hand
Palm open wide, muttering in tongues
He produced a flame
He set the campfire ablaze again
The villagers welcomed the stranger
All stunned and amazed
They felt no harm nor danger
Obliged to restore the favour
They offered him food
They offered him shelter
A place to rest the heavy head
A warm and comfy bed
They all drank and they sang
For hours on end
From dusk till dawn
Hosting their new friend
They spoke of their struggles
Told the stranger their troubles
They danced and they chanted
Until the words spoken were slanted
As dawn disappeared
The morning sun approached
Somewhere in between fallen into slumber...
The villagers awoke
The stranger had long gone
Yet his presence still felt strong
To their amazement nothing was taken
Nothing but their struggles and troubles
They thought their eyes must be mistaken
A church tower stood where there was rubble
The crops harvested and the seeds sown
A job that no man can do alone
The fields full with livestock too
The days will now go from grey to blue
Their dam was fixed and the river flowed
Fresh water no more sickness a blessing behold
Fruit on the tree's and clothes for their backs
In the village vault piles of precious gems and gold
A blessing in disguise
A mysterious stranger from the skies
Presented the people with a task
With no mention of such a prize
He came then he went no hello or goodbye
An angel a saint in these peoples eyes
He left them with love he left them with joy
Asked no questions nor told any lies
The villagers were given hope for the coming days
This gift was given with no trickery deception or demise
Never to be forgotten for such righteousness
All was in pure faith no reason to despise
Never to be seen again
But always in their hearts
Gone but never forgotten
A stranger from the stars
Lifted the people’s struggles
Allowed them to heal the scars
