The War Within

Bound by the mind,I joust with myselves
Have had long, hard duels
Doubts killing the construction of sanity
A stricken conversation, taken into word wars
Rites of passage, strewn by shock, questions
Dirt track roads all grown up into highways
Eager spikes wound, and muffle my days
Filthy, and malevolent; the ground a muddle of peak, and trough
My head wrestles, with a collision of answers
I struggle to weave, the push and pull of thoughts
Held aloft by a darker buoyancy
That's why I'm a tough little tragedy.
