Majestic is the wisteria,
in its lavender, pink or royal blue,
a vine confined but then set free
a trailing plant until it grew
into a bush or flowering tree
but still a vine of splendid view
filling a clustered pathway
under a layered canopy of bloom
with a scented springtime allure
a leafy remnant of perfume
lingers quiet but not demure
within an opalescent plume
