THE WORDS THAT ENDED MY MARRIAGE

Oh, how I rue the words I spoke
That ended my marriage, like a simple joke
Words that cut like a dagger's stroke
And left my heart in pieces, broke
'Twas a simple phrase, yet so profound
A whispered mutter, that made no sound
A gust of wind, that turned around
And with a mighty force, shook the ground
"I hate your cooking," I said with a sneer
As I tasted her stew, and shed a tear
The onions were raw, the meat so near
To being burnt, my taste buds feared
But oh, how she took it to heart
Like a dart, that pierced her art
Cooking was her life, her work of art
And my words tore her dreams apart
The pots and pans, they rose to fight
As the kitchen turned into a sight
Of chaos, fury, and a mighty plight
Of utensils, that flew with all their might
I tried to apologize, but it was too late
My fate, was sealed by my hate
And now I sit, in a lonely state
Regretting the words, that sealed my fate
So beware, my friends, of what you say
For words have power, in every way
And can turn love, to hate in a day
Like the words, that ended my marriage, in a Shakespearean way
