the world is a joke

the world is a joke
I’m writing my heart out —
I don’t want religion,
I crave spirituality.

I don’t want a church,
I need people I can call family.

I can’t confess my sins
To another sinner like me,
Just because he wears a robe
And studied belief in some academy.

I don’t want to read it in a book,
I want to hear it from You —
Not through chapters or sermons,
But through truth that breathes and moves.

I don’t want to learn it in a school,
Where knowledge hides behind deceit,
Where truth is buried under rules
And honesty admits defeat.

I don’t want to talk about it
To another human being —
They know the truth,
Yet dress it up with lies between.

There is only one God,
But countless religions.
So who do I trust —
The pastor or the priest?

The world is a joke.
And I am here,
Still searching
For something real.
