Closing my eyes
I hear every sound
I open my mind to all around
was that the wind
was that the dog
was that my heart
beating all night long
I open my eyes to darkness
I haven't slept at all
I look at the time
I've been awake for so long
finally I drift off
sliding into the unknown
a dreamlike state
something I call my own
I need the peace
I need the quiet
I'm a light sleeper
I've nearly forgotten
I wake up
or am I awake
feels like a dream
did I sleep in so late
I smile because I know
there's no place like the zone
because in reality I'm sleeping
the zone is my dreams
not even a nightmare
can make me scream.
