I’m offering up my love for you
Even though there’s not much there
You’d be a fool to accept my offer
But I want you to know that I really care.
But there are so many others out there
Who can possibly provide a better life for you
so I understand if you reject my offer
even though my love for you is true.
All I’ve ever wanted is to protect you
From the darkness of the night and
From all those religions who’d judge you
Because they think that it’s alright.
Their “love” for you is all bound up
With their own religious lies
So I hope that you don’t listen to them
Because if you “sin” it’s you that they’ll despise.
So one more week is all that I ask of you
For you to question what they’ll actually provide
If you still find that you want to be with them
that’s ultimately something you must decide.
I will miss you if you decide to leave
And follow their antiquated ways
But no matter where or how that hurts me
I’ll love you for all of my days.
