Their final meeting..

They vowed that they would be together forever.
Dying like this, in their thoughts, was never.
They could not part,
They were each others heart.
As young children they became each other's best friend.
And through their teen years, together again.
Now going into adulthood they never were apart.
They had each other's heart.
One of them were terminally ill
Every day down goes the pills.
They ran away together
To continue their forever.
But caught themselves in a rut,
Where they were locked into a cave with the walls closed shut.
With no more pills, no water or food, they only had each other.
They died in one another's arms, there bodies entwined forever.
That's how they wanted to go, together.
Nobody knows when it's there time to go.
But in that moment only they would know.
They held on for as long as their hearts were still beating.
But death was their final meeting.
