Once upon a time,
there was a girl.
She had a face, a smile, a laugh.
But she had no soul
no future
no past.
Floating mysterious emotion within
a capsule of blood and water.
Birthed as a widower's daughter.
Under a darkened light
in youth exposed to night.
Through envy endured neglect
Through recklessness garnered contempt
Fallicies imposed to suppose
the calloused performance of a wilted rose.
Once upon a time
there was a girl.
Who embarked on a ship,
But never set sail.
