Father, how do I help them understand,
How do I let them know,
How can I make them see;
My reasons for letting go???

They look at it as giving up;
I look at it as giving in.

They don't really see;
All the tremendous pain I'm in.

It's sad to say,
It's sad to hear,
But they'll never truly know.

This pain and suffering, I fear;
That weakens- my forgiving soul.
