Here inside of me lays hpv, not a friend nor companion
Seated waiting dormant, will it bring me cancer
I was told, "no impossible" by my friends and cousin, due to genetics
but the doctor said, "there is still yet a one percent chance"
Here yet again, I'm feeling afraid, ashamed, pathetic and more damaged
by my iniquities, and need to be horny. I gave in and feed my curiosity
but inspite of me, I still did the deed but yet instead of a friend ever stands inside me hpv
Even as I'm old and grow spiritually, I know I'll never be able to fake it
I know I can't always shake it but this thing inside of me just happy and blessed it isn't the disease of hiv
No disrespect to the people out there with the disease but this is my story and I'm just happy it wasn't to be
In tribute to those who are struggling with some type of disease. This poems' purpose isn't to pit one virus over another, nor is it stating one is better than the other. This is simply the story of a loved one, I was asked to write and I hope it will reach someone. Many people in my life are going through this situation this poem is for you we see you, you're not alone we love you
