This is the last poem I'll ever write about you,
No more stanzas will be filled with your name.
No more rhymes will be woven to extol your virtues,
As I lay down my pen and put out the flame.
I'll cast away the memories that once consumed me,
And forget the way your smile used to light up the room.
I'll erase the echoes of your voice that once moved me,
For the love we shared has now met its doom.
It's time to move on and leave you in the past,
To look to the future and leave behind the pain.
This is the last poem I'll ever write about you,
As I turn my back on love and seek a new refrain.
