THIS LOVE TRAGICOMEDY

I first fell in love and tore the curtain
On the slopes of the Elgon mountain.
I slid and, all in all
Down, a heap I fell
Just like that, like an idiot
Though it is said I'm smart!
What a slippery road initially it was!
Yes, I sustained some ignored bruises.
They somewhat hurt;
Minor injuries at first.

I first mopped beads of love sweat,
On my knees, proposing that night.
I boiled up inside
And burnt outside
Just like that, like an enchanted coward
Though it's said I'm a bully in the crowd!
What a stubborn ground to till
When the body fights the will!
It indeed turned out
A task felt too stout.

I first devoured the love dish bliss
On the hurried sound of your YES.
Wings, then, fast I grew,
High I soared and flew
Just like that, like a mad-man kite;
Those that rise, to fall is the plight!
What a masterpiece duet we sang in tongues
Our hearts twirled and swirled in dire pangs!
Suddenly sweetly sad,
Shortly the story lived.

I first cried tears of dear dead love
On our fourth Eros anniversary eve.
I felt sore, soiled and used;
Swollen, I burst out ignited
Just like that, like a weak widower
Though they say I'm a tough tower!
You had just broken, then, the frozen thrill,
When your silence spoke the whole ordeal;
That the end of the our road
Had come sooner than trod!
