I look down at my hands.
Pen designs crawl past my wrists and up my arms, I've always wanted to get tattoos.
Short nails squeeze into my own palms, not too tight, I don't hurt myself anymore.
My hands are big for my age, a result of being 5'10, yet barely a teenager.
I look at my legs.
Long, skinnier than they used to be, I'm trying to gain the weight back.
They say beauty isn't only skin deep, but I don't feel pretty until my outer flesh is.
My best friend tells me I should join the cheer team again and gain some more muscle, but I can't find the energy through all the tiring trials of life.
That's okay.
I stare into my eyes, blinking lazily at the faint smudges of fingerprints on the reflection.
I'm so young, but I've made it so far.
And so have you.
Look at yourself, behind the dark thoughts and insecurities.
Behind the wonders of "I'm not good enough," and "why aren't I better?"
Loving yourself takes time, start with considering yourself human, and step lightly towards considering yourself beautiful.
Until then, I can love you enough for the both of us. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
