I

Through Aozihadi

Clear skies, dust lifted from opaque air
And the birds they are alive: swarming, taking flight
Picture-book blossoms, bejeweled in sunlight
As butterflies lift off; delicate gold flakes glint white
Black mask a shield, air musty passing through
Pricks of perspiration underneath cloak of propriety
Beams on weary eyes, circled with anxiety
Dread clenching core at stoplights, bustling society
But in a fairytale moment, body glides
The wind beneath feet, sun at cheeks
Wheels a pair of wings, exhilarating speeds
And in that moment soar, be free
