When I had to say goodbye to you my little friend,
I felt that this day was your end.
You gave us 8 beautiful years,
And now were saying goodbye in tears.
Sometimes I feel your presence around me.
Wishing I was holding you again instead of setting you free.
You were such a darling boy, I will remember you always in my heart.
But I cried so many tears the day we had to part.
I have so many memories of us,
And I will remember everything about you even the funny stuff.
I know life will never be the same with you gone.
But I know it gets easier, as I become strong.
So rest your weary eyes my little guy.
Mama's here, as your soul leaves, and says goodbye.
I will hold your paw til you don't need me
I will comfort you in your time of need.
Rest easily and go to sleep,
Your tired body can relax, you don't need to weep.
Close your beautiful eyes and go to sleep.
Someday we will meet again,
in heaven, my little friend.
