Time apologising to us...
There was a night
when the clock sat beside me,
quiet for the first time,
its hands trembling
like they had carried too many regrets.
And Time looked at me —
not as a ruler,
not as a thief,
but as something guilty.
It said,
“I am sorry
for every person I took too soon,
for every moment I never let stay,
for turning warm hands into memories
and laughter into echoes.”
“I apologize
for making hearts wait
until they forgot how hope sounds,
for teaching people
that almost is sometimes
the cruelest word.”
Then Time lowered its eyes and whispered,
“But understand…
I never wanted to hurt you.
I was only moving
the way I was created to.”
And for the first time,
I did not curse the passing hours.
I simply sat beside Time
like an old friend,
both of us carrying wounds
we never knew how to heal.
