Title: Why you read it if you don't care about it?

In the silence of your speech, I find a noisy void,
A stream of consciousness, casually deployed.
Why lend an ear, why feign the part,
If your words don't resonate with my heart?
You speak, I hear, but the meaning's lost,
A line uncrossed, a bridge un-crossed.
If empathy's the key, why is it so rare?
Why listen at all, if you truly don't care?
In a future where minds open like books,
Where thoughts are read in stolen looks,
If understanding eludes, if interest's not there,
Why delve into minds, if for them you don't care?
It's a dance of pretense, a curious art,
Of listening to words that don't touch the heart.
So if you read this and feel nothing inside,
Ask yourself why you even tried.
