So she gets the long late night calls,
Long text messages,
"Good morning my love,"
"Good afternoon babe,"
"Good evening honey,"
She even gets to be called all the sweet names
That I wished you called me instead.
She gets flowers,
Random visits,
Road trips,
She even gets to meet your friends as your woman,
Something I always wanted.
She gets everything,
While I got nothing,
Nothing but excuses,
Nothing but fake promises,
Nothing but heartache.
Tears every now and then,
You never had time for me,
"I'm busy, I'm busy"
It's I ever got,
"Stop nagging me,"
You'd shout at me and call me insecure.
I wanted all that you are giving her now,
I wanted your time and attention,
Your love and affection,
A little bit of appreciation,
But all I got was suffocation.
So today I asked my heart,
"Do you still remember him,"
And yes she answered,
But not the same,
She's used to loving you from a distance,
Your name no longer gives her butterflies,
She accepted you'll never be hers,
And no longer wants you back.
Instead,
She wishes you nothing but the best,
No longer cares about the rest,
She's busy finding her self,
For she lost it, loving wrong.
So dear ex,
Let's forget the sex,
Coz that's all I ever got from you,
That's all you ever wanted from me
And that left me so miserable and in pain.
I heard you gave her an engagement ring,
I heard she's carrying your offspring,
At times I wish she was me.
