it happened 8 months ago
when you told me you didn't have much time now.
unknowingly the cancer inside your liver
had been slowly taking you away forever.
your face looked less and less like I've always known
more and more seemed like only bone
your pants got looser and looser
until the day you were taken in an ambulance cruiser.
the days got harder
while our time grew shorter
our son will never get to know his father
and for that this couldn't be harder
your strength diminished
every day again and again I wished
that somehow a miracle
would heal your thickel.
you couldn't hardly walk
you wanted it to be finished
but I couldn't walk.
away from the man I made my vows
through sickness and in health
still today my tears I cant keep abowed.
it happened 2 months ago
you were in a deep sleep
but not counting any sheep
you couldn't wake up
or look me in the eye.
how do I force myself to say goodbye?
still to this day I cant let go
you are the only man I've ever really known.
I won't say goodbye
to say it's possible would be a lie.
your memory still lives
I'm thankful to have been your wife.
I'll never forget your face
or your sweet embrace.
I'll never again feel so safe
as I did wrapped in your arms
cant accept the fact that it's too late
it seems misery is now my fate.
this is a true story
written in memory
of my soul mate
I wanted to be with when I retire

Rest In Peace my love
I know you'll keep an eye on me from above!
I LOVE YOU
I MISS YOU
UNTIL THE DAY WE MEET AGAIN
