To My Sibling

In shadows deep, my sibling dwelled,
Once bound by love, a bond upheld.
We laughed and played, side by side,
Through youthful days, a joyous ride.
But shadows change, and hearts can turn,
And bitter darkness within does churn.
The mask they wore, now torn away,
In treacherous cuts, their words now sway.
Betrayal lingers, a bitter sting,
Each memory tainted, tainted and scarred,
A once-strong bond forever marred.
They turned on me, and now I see,
A sibling lost, forever to be.
