And presented a cup to replace one broken yesterday
Quilt tucked tight
Crocheted pot holders
Magnifying glass held just right
Call for something to break the monotony
We spend the day pouring over old recipes

Yesterday I made a break to say I can live without you
And picked up a rock heart to replace one broken in two
Midnight messages
Frisbee throwing picnic
Poetry and music sessions
Call for something to break the dependency
I spend my days with art and verse
A hopeful transition from the I love you s
Should I build or burn a bridge
Between today and yesterday
Are the memories of fear and goodbyes something
I should throw away
Or they merely stepping stones to where I am today
which empower me to celebrate
This small but significant birthday
