Dr. Cassel: But why do you claim to hate yourself? I must say Kris, from most logical viewpoints you have absolutely nothing to hate. You're a smart, young, intelligent person. You have a lot to offer the world; you should start telling yourself that, it might help you.
Kristopher: ....You know how people say, 'If Hate is such a strong word, why do we use Love so casually.' Well, I believe that we are to cavalier with our Hatred. It's a special feeling, reserved, not for things that agitate us, or people that infuriate us, not even for our mortal enemies and their opposing beliefs; but for ourselves. Anyone can choose not to care if someone else hates them, but when a person hates their self, there is no escape, no release. That hatred can linger on and on, from one life to the next; through good, great, and even the best of times. It can remain eternally, and manifest its self due to both past and present fallacies for seemingly no reason. Quite honestly, Doctor, I can't think of a more befitting punishment for my own iniquity; no one is more critical of my existence than myself because I am my own worst critic.
