They promised one another
They would die together.
They ran away
And lived day to day.
Both of their souls fit within each other.
Nobody would take that away, not even their mothers.
One person had tried, it was their father's.
The secret was kept between their brothers.
So they hiked until they found a safe haven for them to live.
Months and months without any food and no hand outs did their families give.
They wanted to prove that they can make it on their own.
But all they felt was so alone.
Alone and nowhere to go
Starvation slowed them down, but they loved each other so.
In one another's arms their breathing slowed down.
Weakness, from fighting, they wore a frown.
But died together in the wilderness, alone.
For that it was love and dignity they had owned.
