Form his mother barely weened
When he heard the call
The call to go to war,
He was sent to a far off land
Cross our country, cross the sea
To fight in a war
Against an unseen enemy,
He'll freely admit
That he was down right scared
He prayed to the most Holy
His life would be spared,
Bullets and tracers
Flew like falling star's
Bomb after bomb
Shredded busses and cars,
When they tell me their stories
Show me battle scars real
These the least of their worries
For with bigger woes they deal,
Many can barely breathe
Other's with difficulty walk
Still their faces glow
When we by happenhchance talk,
With pride I welcome them back
With joy welcome them home
We Vets are a strong family
For together we're never alone.
