Conflict of interest and tone of voice,
A battle inside that leaves no choice.
To speak what's true and to be kind,
Yet the two can never seem to bind.
The words that flow from our mouths,
Often have double meanings that crouch.
One for show and one for self,
A conflict of interest that brings no wealth.
The tone we choose to speak with ease,
Can often hide the pain we seize.
The sadness we feel that goes unheard,
As we put on a smile that's absurd.
The battle inside can never cease,
As we struggle to find inner peace.
