Traveling Landbirds

I woke up late again,
My hair is a mess,
My feet smell,
Along with a hangover,
I must've thought I was invincible,
Thought that I could take on the world,
And in a way you could say I did,
Not like in a real way,
But the only way you feel you could,
Sometimes I wonder,
More then I need too,
And sometimes I'll cry,
Less then what should be,
If it hurts, you feel pain,
If it heals, you feel joy,
But all the moments in between,
That's what I look forward too the most,
As we sit and laugh,
Play fight and wrestle over one another,
As we both lay down and look at the stars,
Trying to count them all,
Like the many dreams we have,
Like the many thoughts that spring,
We just enjoy it,
And we don't need to talk or act,
We know what it is,
What makes us enjoy the silence blessed,
And the sounds that break it,
Am I happy?
Is that the goal?
Or is there more behind it,
Then just simply wanting to smile...
You can't dream this,
When it has you breathing,
As you think this is all for you,
Don't lie all the time,
It brings cold water,
This snowstorm gets real heavy,
To speak of old love,
Why bother if it wasn't to be so,
Just lay by me and stay close,
Do we see the light shining in our eyes,
This seems to be no,
It makes this song grow more,
The wind picks up forever more,
We strive all the time,
As your heart shatters just know you're not alone here,
You'll never be alone here,
So why bother to waste your life by inches,
Just to see your eyes lose shine,
Cold water,
Grow up...
