I try my best
only to realize
I need to give me
a rest on
not letting others opinions
have a final rest
on my heart or in my head
as I lay awake
a million thoughts race
to catch me off about my day
or the way other people
think of me or about me
then a blank gaze drapes
over me to keep me busy
and won't let me think or sleep
so I try to rethink
or remake the day
until the thoughts leave me
