Once again, summer's arrival has me nestled in my favourite place
By the lake, eyes closed,
Letting the soothing sounds of nature permeate my consciousness
Since I last sat on this dock,
There has been growth... yet stagnation
There has been healing... yet hindrance
There is stillness... but also, a stirring
The sun's reflection on the water
Emanates my own reflection on my life
Peaceful... yet, pensive
Faithful... yet, often fearful
Hopeful... though, at times, helpless
My thoughts have me in a quandary
Caught between two worlds
Wondering how to get from one realm to the other
I remind myself to pause
Embrace this quiet moment
And trust that in time,
The worlds will collide and become one
