City lights flicker, a constellation made by man,
Mimicking stars on the ground,
Where dreams walk the streets, hand in hand,
And silence is a mythical sound.
They compete with the moon,
In a playful fight for the night's attention,
Illuminating paths, as if to say, "soon",
Whispering secrets of the city, too many to mention.
In their glow, we find the stories,
Of the lost, the in-love, and those chasing glory,
Each light a beacon, a moment's memory,
In the endless city night, a temporary sanctuary.
