The haze of life makes me to scribble
Scribbling a dirge for the year is necessary
Each day I contemplate matchless agonies
Only to be comforted with a string of joy.
The engine of my heart jerk with expectations
But Pains and sorrows kissed my abode
celebrating Xmas with bobbles beclouded me
The demise of my elder sister often made me cold
The voices of birds bid me solace momentarily
Yet visits and advice of friends enchanted my worries
the certainty of problems made me startled
A beckon of hope, seems far and wide
The tone of my anger reflects the ripples in my face
The escapades of covid-19 pandemic seem erasable
The tortured in EndSars saga endangers mutual peace
The intermingling of endemic with epidemic is pathetic
The current of corruption remains palpable
Voices of my loved ones seem discouraging
I receive hatred as reciprocation for love
Decades have passed and still passing
The password of this coming decade is uncertain
Like the bird I have escape the furies of 2020
In joy, I hide under the wings of the incarnate Christ
In Christ alone is good tidings and comfort
The joy of knowing Christ is the fullness of Life
In him alone I commend the life of 2021.
