Old familiar face, that bitter taste
We've been hangin' round
too long, with a crooked tongue.
So pale & heartless,
I mourn the indifference.
Take me to the darkness..
Release the other me.
Tangled in illusions,
Inside a web of deceit.
There's no turning back,
there's no coming down..
I'm forever lost,
there's no coming around.
I'm running around in here,
spinning in circles inside my head.
I retrace the steps, to retrace steps.
I've learned to embrace the fear.
And nothing I believe will take me
Past the edge that I can't see.
This has left me with no choice.
My hands are tied & I won't listen.

Surrounded by the darkness
We dive right in, cannot swim,
but we dive right in.
Vision is blurred and starts to spin.
The walls come crashing down
And I'm alone again, I'm alone again.
Oh, we're skin and bones,
A pale, ghostly entity.
In hypnotic embrace, we'll never change.
Hopeless, we're chained to our humanity.
I'm writing a letter.
(that will never be read)
I shed a tear.
(that will never be seen)
I'm buried with these words
(that I never speak)
I am the darkness (that we'll never see)
I'll never be far away
When this calls my name
I know there's no escape
Take me to the darkness
Hang me out to dry..
Lead me to the rupture.
Set my body free.
Higher than the flames,
Set ablaze the other side of me...
