UNMAPPED JOURNEY

On that ugly noontide, I sprinted
To not miss the final view of you.
The finest picturesque of Lord's work
Scampering on the long stretch of love
To pour out at your feet, all passion
I possess to your name in all its vehemence.
For a millionth time I envisioned my words
And lost in my urgency I bruised my knees
And palms. I rang you and nothing.
The rumble of the trains augmented the pace
Of my heartbeat and the crowd irritated me
To a new measure of new heights as in my eyes
They became the hurdles in this distance
Between you and me. It mortified my poor heart
And my soul was sinking in the ocean of words
That were racing through my mind and the noise
In my head tot heavier and I realized
I was out of breaths, stupid smoked lungs.
While I caught some air, I bespangled
My bland lines with poetic verve
And again on a scary arvo, I jostled.
