C

UNTIL DARKNESS FALLS

Rays of glistening gold
burn my tired eyes
as backward I pedal
from the great sun's rise...
Hugging the shadows
of yester's dark edge,
escaping the rising light
as its bright beams dredge...
Avoiding the fiery burn
as the intense light plays,
on the dark cold ground
of a wet dank maze,
until the day retreats
behind the black sky of night,
and the moon again rules
a star riddled sight.
I'll hide my burning eyes
in this solitaire abyss,
looking for' to darkness
and its unseen kiss.
