I find peace here.
In the dark, with only the light of the moon and stars about my head. I suppose the city lights aren't too shabby either.
It's that peace that keeps me coming back.
I try not to adhere any feelings that come attached with certain people to this place.
That would be too egregious a sin.
Something as pure and as dark as this autumn evening in the city dares not to be tainted with such things. Are there feelings though? Of course there are.
Thankfully none so tainted.
This inky, black, ethereal night awakens feelings in me...
That, thus far, no human being ever has.
Therein lies the peace.
Something so pure, so untouched...
So unfathomable as this abyss has surely never existed in real life.
At least not mine.
Its as cold and dark as my soul, and I'm not quite sure if it's an altogether "good" thing. Im also not
sure it bothers me the way it probably should. Some fear the unknown...
Of the emptiness in which something so dark contains.
I do not.
How can I rightfully so without only fearing myself. For I too am an empty chasm seemingly without end.
And yet as the darkness fades into light and the slightest breath of warmth plays on the breeze... I am as cold as ever.
More cold than the night itself.
And so my peace fades, I'm afraid.
Until Tonight
