I have always tried to be good,
But I have always been reward tears and blood,
My earliest memory, bloody beaten 6yr old looking in my Grandmother's mirror pudding and food mushed in my curly hair and blood trickling from nose,
I deserved it I supposed,
Gifted school and I was a black kid alone, teachers allowed kids to beat away my innocent heart,
Zebra or nigger their thoughts, watch my angel die of cancer, she taught me tell truth, don't cheat, pray,
But I wondered if God was short angels to take mine away,
My life has always been a fight 3lb 6oz, struggling to breathe, my angel took me in to care for the child always sick, shook heads on life expectancy, leaving it day by day,
And I saw my angel in you,
So I gave you truth and true to my angel never cheated, because I want life at your side,
But you never tried to even once give me a team mate,
I loved but hated seeing you like this because I knew your shine, I wallowed in hate,
Had a house , a family, and just wanted to fly, but you clipped your wings, and never tried to be the amazing artist, actress, and love I believed from day one at airport you could be,
And just like the young cub scout, I again lost my angel, my dream,
I look in mirror and still see that sad boy, still pray, and have hope that an angel will stay one day with me, I mean it has to happen as I could have been spared pain, and never draw breath if there wasn't a happy ending for me,
