Once again I closed my eyes,
and became blind to all the lies
My ears have heard them all before,
which always leaves my heart on the floor
My brain says "maybe he's the one", then ever so quietly whispers, "you're a fool, an I told you so when this is through"
Finally after the hurt begins, my eyes open once again
And with what they see and what they've learned
Allows my brain to jump in and scream, "we are done"
My heart's defeated and
refuses to rise,
breaks down and starts to cry "I'll just stay here on the floor forever broken
that's for sure"
The heart misses what it wants
And the eyes look for what's to come
The brain stays sensible, but knows the truth
But I believe that I am done, and I've gotten pretty good
at just being one
Ill make my way through a world made for two
A little lonely, but never blue
