She sobbed
At life's constant struggles.
I hold her close
When a sea of tears
Approached the shore
Of her cheeks.
The love
And comfort we felt
Was pure -
Until the glance
Of my shirt
Became her Kleenex.
Grotesque,
Chunks of mucus
I endured.
" Thank you. "
She said softly
With a hinted smile.
" Your welcome. "
I replied -
With disgust and discontent.
I let her free
While pressing my left palm
Upon her right cheek.
" Now get off of me. "
