Valentine's Day 2026

Today is the day of love and honouring your soulmate

A day of respect for each other and helping them too

You may cook a big breakfast and serve them in bed

Clean the house and yard while they rest and snooze

Both of you send the kids off to grandmas for the night

You plan a quiet night alone that's uninterrupted to bond

Flowers strewn across the bed and incense burning soft

A night you will want to last forever , years and beyond

Valentine's day began a bit chilly this morning I noticed

It has gone up in temperature recently , now there's fog

Still I bit cold on the fingers if you're outside right now

I think I can feel Mrs Spring hovering , I can hear her knock

In just a few short weeks the thermometer will be rising

To that point where the sun warms your back and arms

A cool breeze from the west that gently flows over you

Taking you back many years to when you lived on a farm

I do wish today was warmer for all the love birds around

But fortunately they get to cuddle together in a warm bed

Keeping each other cozy from each others nice body heat

And what comes next this night you both gasp for breath

And I can't forget the single folks out there who are alone

Spending this day by themselves and in their own company

They curl up on the sofa with some chips and fizzy pop

Put on their favourite show or movie , they do it humbly

For the folks who finally reveal their crush on this one day

Pour out your heart and soul to them in a display of passion

How each moment they think about them , they go insane

You have dreamed of their yes and what will then happen

Your crush admits that they have had the same thoughts

Overjoyed you both hug each other so tightly and firmly

Emotions spilling out and confessions are brought to light
