I have to stay indoors today
Outside is out of bounds
Just 60 minutes once per day
I’m immersed in nature’s sound
I’m on house arrest I know not when
My sentence will be ended
I’ve committed no crime but here I stay
Until the world is mended
This virus we’ve created is taking many lives
We thought at first that the fit and healthy would definitely survive
Although it began its journey in Asia, far away
It’s reached every corner of the world, wreaking havoc on its way.
The numbers keep increasing
The death toll rising fast
It’s a worldwide pandemic
How long will humans last?
No current cures will pacify the beast that keeps on growing
We stay indoors and watch the news, our inner fear is showing
Not class nor culture, wealth or fame protects you from its hold
No antibodies can we make to fight it, so I’m told
So stay indoors and lock the doors
Don’t let the demon in
The world must fight as one right now
United we can win.
