Essential workers you say
we work around the clock to keep you safe
nurses, doctors, support staff
we work with limited supplies
one mask for 12 patients a week
stored in a bag and we move on
you cough, you sneeze
oh please cover your mouthwash them hands
you see room two the one with the sobbing family
as we had to make the choice to take the vent
to keep them comfortable
all because society keeps moving
we beg we plead stay home
keep safe and well
so we can go home to our families
and you to yours
if you dont remeber this
it was easy to step out that door
but it's not easy to shut the lid of the coffin
