Waiting

Dusk pours in
like lilac furnace
upon distant skies.
Flowers drenched in her aura
cannot decide where or when
to stop waiting
and then to just
call it a day
as the world turns to the other side.
Dusk pours in
her skies vivid as ever
unmistakably strong
doubtless of her desire.
Reddened lips against moist buds
of yesterday
reminiscing because that is all
that is left before night turns in.
Curled against the vines
entwined with acknowledgement
it is as it was
a beautiful dream.
Dusk pours in
saturated with the colour she so loved
lingering on long after time.
Enduring bittersweet moments
torrid torture of the day
often her petals cloaked in sorrow
masquerading as a gleeful butterfly
fleeting sojourns but never staying long
enough to pacify and to understand.
Her petals crumble
she turns inwards
the only solitude
she has for now
while the world turns to the other side.
Persevering and weathering all storms
again and again
rises with the phoenix from the ashes
her lilac blooms humbles nature
puts us to shame.
Dusk pours in
not her story be told
yet let her resilience be known
Nature bless her fortitude.
Her petals bloom
her radiance lightens the world
her lilac hue
desirous for life.
