Walking these streets, alone..

Walking through the woods in the deep dark night.
Oh what a terrible fright,
This little boy of only four,
Was caught in a terrible downpour.
The deadly sounds of the whistling wind, along the trees.
With just a little sweater on,.
This boy could almost freeze.
The little boy cried out for his mom and dad but nobody could hear him.
It's a very cold night, he keeps walking the streets, doesn't know where to begin.
He is tired and fragile, he is hungry, he needs to eat.
Months have passed, no one cares about him, from walking so far, scars appear on his feet.
No pictures hanging on the walls outside, he must not have been forgotten, to each their own.
He has learned how to survive alone.
Eventually, a familiar face approaches him.
From one end of town to another, he doesn't know where to begin.
He started from the woods, to a very dangerous street.
Even the person he bumped into, wasn't someone you would want to meet.
All tired, and all beat,
He kept walking along in his bare feet.
The man held his hand,
He tried to explain to the little boy, about life in which he could never understand.
It became a deep, dark, mystery, but the little boy was glad to find his way home.
One thing he learned from all of this was " Never walk the streets alone."
Thank you tiffany for helping me write this poem.
