War at Home

War at Home
They say trauma is for soldiers,
but my people been drafted since birth.

From cotton fields to cold courtrooms.
The battlefield just changed its shirt.

We inherit fear like family heirlooms
sirens instead of lullabies,
mothers praying over sons
like they already hear goodbyes.

History don’t live in books.
It lives in our bones.
And sometimes the loudest war
is the one
we fight at home.
